Le Restaurant Miroir d' Argentine is a classic Swiss chalet nestled at the foot of the Argentine Alps in the Vaud region of Switzerland.  We are open from mid-May to end of October.  We are a renowned family run restaurant, famous for our Swiss hospitality and Swiss-French cuisine.

Our dining room with its rich pine-panelled walls creates a warm ambiance that gives our guests a memorable taste of Switzerland.

We pride ourselves on using only the freshest ingredients that we personally select from local farms and markets.  Our menu closely reflects the best products of each growing season.

A sample menu would include a choice of four to six appetizers priced between 9.00 sfr to 25.00 sfr.

Examples:
Foie gras de canard:     A duck liver terrine served with hot toast and fresh salad with olive oil. 
Feuilleté au vacherin:     Puff pastry with melted "Vacherin" cheese. 
Tarte à l'oignon et échalottes avec jambon cru local:    Savoury onion and shallot pie with dried mountain ham.
Gratin d'aubergines et sa sauce aux légumes:     Toasted eggplants with a vegetable sauce.
 Fromage de chèvre frais gratiné sur un lit de saladines à l'huile d'olive:    Fresh garden salad with toasted local goat cheese. (melted)
 
Our lunch menu includes a "Special of the Day,"  created by our executive chef, Andre JAGGI

Hachis Parmentier aux ailerons de pintade avec salade: Shepherd's pie of guinea fowl wings served with a salad.

Travers de porc à l'aigre-doux avec riz Thaï et légumes: Sweet-sour spareribs with Thai rice and garden vegetables.

Boeuf braisé avec rösti et légumes du jardin: Braised beef served with rosti and garden vegetables.

Langue de boeuf avec sauce moutarde, pommes purée et légumes: Beef tongue prepared in a mustard sauce served with a potato pie and fresh vegetables.

 

Our most popular specialties "de la Maison" include:

Brochette de gigot d'agneau avec sauce lait de coco au curry et piments: Skewered leg of lamb prepared in a curried coconut milk with hot peppers. 
Médaillons filet de veau au persil avec pommes darphin et légumes: Medallions of veal filet served with a parsley mousse, roasted potatoes and garden vegetables.
Risotto aux champignons frais et salade: Italian risotto served with fresh mushrooms and a garden salad.
Prices vary from 28.00 sfr to 45.00 sfr
Desserts:
Each morning our renowned patisserie/glacerie chef, Martine JAGGI, prepares the "ice cream of the day" using fresh cream  imported vanilla sticks. With our noon meal we offer Martine's fabulous fruit tartes, a savored favorite of local guest.
 Each evening, Martine creates five to six exquisite desserts to be served apres le diner.
 
Examples:
Feuilleté aux framboises, coulis de framboises: Puff pastry filled with a rich custard cream, topped with fresh mountain raspberries and a raspberries puree.
Tuiles aux fruits frais: A thin, crisp biscuit topped with fresh fruit and cream.
Gâteau au chocolat amer: A rich chocolate mousse using only the finest Swiss chocolate.
Roulade au citron avec fromage blanc et coulis de fruits: Lemon rolls filled with white cheese and fruit "coulis."
 
Seasonal Specialties:
During the months of September and October our executive chef, Andre JAGGI, offers entrees using fresh game from Austria.
 
Wines:
Our well stocked wine cellar offers a large variety of wines produced from local vineyards.  The Lake Geneva area is the second-largest wine growing region in Switzerland.  We are also proud to offer a large selection of imported wines drawing from the best vineyards from around the world.  All of our wines are very reasonably priced.
